2012 U.S. Capitol Anniversary Ornament

As part of its ongoing collection, the official 2012 Capitol ornament is a beautiful work of art. Fashioned to resemble a snowflake, the intricacy of the design is incredible.

The scene is of a snow-covered wintery day gazing up at the US Capitol Building. The snowflake is raised in to a 3-D sculpture and is highlighted by green and white enamel in addition to being coated in 24k gold.

The theme for this year’s ornament is “Your Capitol, Our Mission: 50 Years Inspiring Informed Citizenship.” The back of the ornament is inscribed with “United States Capitol Historical Society 50th Anniversary.”
